You can select donor specifications from the following criteria according to your needs: Age, gender, BMI, nationality, ethnic background, pregnancies, addictive behavior, infectious disease marker status or HLA data.
Our expertise also includes patient apheresis collections performed in our Collection Center in the context of a clinical trial or for commercial products. We possess all the necessary ethics approvals and manufacturing licenses to produce clincal and commercial-grade GMP-compliant products.

Leukopaks
Leukopaks are collected at our Collection Center in Cologne and contain a high concentration of mononuclear cells. All products are collected under GxP (GMP,GDocP) conditions. An extensive donor database offers the possibility to consider donor specifications. Donors can be prescreened to find the ideal candidate for your needs. Testing of specific infectious disease markers will be done on request and adapted to your specifications.
You can choose between the following sizes of leukopaks:
- quarter leukopak (~20 x 10^8 WBC)
- half leukopak (~40 x 10^8 WBC)
- full leukopak (~ 80 x 10^8 WBC)
- large leukopak (> 80 x 10^8 WBC)
If requested, fresh leukopaks are cryopreserved in our GMP facility.
Additionally, we can offer an optimal transport solution to guarantee the fastest possible delivery of the cell products.
Mobilized blood stem cells/ mobilized leukopaks
We collect G-CSF mobilized blood stem cells (expected cell count is >2-5 x 10^8 CD34+) from the peripheral blood of healthy donors using established apheresis processes. We were the first European provider to receive a manufacturing license and GMP certificate for such products in 2023.
Mobilized whole blood
Cellex collects mobilised G-CSF whole blood from the peripheral blood of healthy donors with an expected yield of 10 x 10^6 CD34⁺ cells. CPDA (citrate-phosphate-dextrose-adenine) is used as an additive for anticoagulation and cell nutrition. The final volume of the product is 500 ml. A manufacturing licence and GMP certification for these products have been available since June 2025.
Bone marrow sample
Experienced physicians and nurses collect 100-150 mL of bone marrow. An average a cell count of 10-14 x 10^8 Total Nucleated Cells (TNCs) is expected. Cellex holds an EC vote and manufacturing license for the collection of bone marrow for R&D projects and clinical trials.
Whole blood
Cellex offers whole blood from healthy & diseased donors for research purposes. Our whole blood products are obtained by venipuncture. Whole blood contains all of the cellular (RBC, WBC and platelets) and liquid blood components. CPDA (citrate-phosphate-dextrose-adenine) is used as an additive for anticoagulation and nutrition.
You can choose between three different volumes:
- 100 mL
- 250 mL
- 500 mL

Cell collections for blood stem cell therapy and transplants
Are you looking for a competent partner to support you in the treatment of patients with blood stem cell products? We expertly organize and perform cell collections for you! Since our foundation in 2001, we have carried out over 50,000 allogeneic blood stem cell collections from bone marrow and peripheral blood and DLIs on behalf of various donor registries.
To ensure that your order is processed quickly and reliably, our specialized Apheresis Center in Cologne has various apheresis devices available in a 2-shift system so that several collections can be performed simultaneously. You will receive the cell products as soon as possible – generally no later than 24 hours after collection.
In addition to transplant centers, (for family donors) our clients include the Stefan Morsch Foundation, the Norddeutsche Knochenmarkregister and numerous other national, European, and non-European donor centers and registries.
